Traditional Uses:
Slippery Elm has a long history of traditional use, particularly for its soothing and demulcent properties, making it beneficial for conditions involving inflammation or irritation of the mucous membranes. Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS): for symptoms like bloating, gas, and discomfort. Crohn’s Disease: The mucilage content is believed to coat and soothe the lining of the intestines, potentially reducing inflammation and irritation. Gastritis: It may help soothe the stomach lining and reduce irritation and inflammation. Heartburn and Acid Reflux: The mucilage content may help coat the oesophagus and stomach, providing relief from heartburn and acid reflux symptoms.
